MIAMI (May 17, 2016) — USA Sports Promotions and Blackstone Labs proudly present the 36th annual NPC Southern States Championships competition taking over the historic War Memorial Auditorium (800 NE 8 St., Fort Lauderdale, FL) on Friday and Saturday, July 8-9.

The National Physique Committee (NPC) tournament is one of the largest regional national qualifiers nationwide and features bodybuilding, fitness, figure, bikini, and men’s and women’s physique. New this year is the addition of the men’s classic physique. The NPC is part of the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) and sanctions amateurs in the sport in the United States.

“What started as a one-day championship has since evolved to a two-day event featuring over 20 vendors showcasing the latest in fitness clothing, workout accessories, supplements, and health club equipment,” says Peter W. Potter, president of USA Sports Promotions and national NPC vice president.

New to the lineup this year is the Men’s Classic Physique category, “it’s the first time we have offered this,” explains Potter. “I’m sure the audience is going to enjoy it, as well as seeing our special guest, eight time IFBB Mr. Olympia himself, Ronnie Coleman.”

The Head Judge and honored guest at this year’s competition is Women’s Chairperson IFBB and NPC, Sandy Williamson from Riverside, CA.

Friday’s competition will feature Women’s Fitness, Figure, Bikini; and Men’s Physique. Saturday, guests will experience Men and Women’s Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Women’s Physique.
